Gesichtsmusik (United States, Experimental, 2004, DV, Color, Magnetic Stereo, 00:02:20)

GESICHTSMUSIK is a musical self-portrait. The work examines my personal sounds and musical expressiveness. Through this process driven work, a musical composition is revealed which is distinct to my person. The work is titled GESICHTSMUSIK which is German for FACE MUSIC because it was created during my 5 month stay at the Fachhochshule SchwĄZbisch Hall, in Germany.

Torsten Kretchzmar: Entschlossenheit (United States, Music, 2003, DV, Color, Magnetic Stereo, 00:04:04)

Torsten Kretchzmar the German electro pop performer is described as the love child of Kraftwerk and Sprockets and is now bringing you the next best German word since FahrvergnĄZgen with his project ĄZEntschlossenheitĄZ. His lyrics are interpreted by the abstract dance artist Tanner Coleman Stewart. More German than Kraftwerk, the Bauhaus, and Sprockets combined, Torsten Kretchzmar rocks the soft-spoken, androgynous artist to a tee in this excellent techno concept project. With a dead-pan behind-the-scenes documentary and videos complete with Oskar Schlemmer-esque dance moves and over-the-top filters, it's not only solidly catchy, teutonic music, but a completely fun and inspiring Gesamtkunstwerk.

Modern Times (United States, Animation, 2004, Color, Magnetic Stereo, 00:03:00)

The original ĄZModern TimesĄZ featured Charlie Chaplin dealing with mans relationship with technology in the industrial age. This new work looks at our relationships in the age of Information and where it is taking us. Using imagery from brochures provided by the Department of Homeland Security, the animation looks at the fears we deal with in our everyday lives as opposed to the terror the government would prefer we concentrate on. It is not only a discussion of fear, but the effects these emotions have on us and how these ideas are transmitted. This type of iconography is used in very polar situations. Often we see warnings with simplified bodies being harmed as a consequence of not following the rules. These illustrations evoke fear without being real or graphic. On the other hand, in documents such as airplane brochures, the same simplified pictures show a complete lack of fear and are used to make one feel safe and to reduce fear and anxiety. The flat, sterile and unemotional disconnect from what is happening mirrors the way we increasingly react to the world around us. Sensation and overabundance bring apathy, people and the body are reduced to commodities, and the individual continues to recede into the white noise.

Love Is (United States, Animation, 2004, Animation, Color, Magnetic Stereo, 00:03:17)

This music video explores love during the nuclear destruction of our planet. Boston-based band, Mollycoddle provided an innocent song about children falling in love. I wanted to put my own humorous twist on the subjects of love and destruction. The video follows a young boy who imagines the end of the world while everyone is too blind to notice because they are falling in love.

Dunkelheit (United States, Animation, 2005, Color, Magnetic Stereo, 00:02:13 )

"Dunkelheit" deals with the consequences when you turn the light switch to 'OFF'. Sure that darkness ascends but is that because of the extinct light in your room or did you accidentally switch off the sun, turned earth a 180 degrees around so that noon suddenly became midnight or did you just shut your eyes...

Rocco Never Dies (United States, Animation, 2005, Digital Video, B&W/Color, Magnetic Monaural, 00:03:52)

"Rocco Never Dies" is a drawing animation based on the XXX movie of Italian porn superstar Rocco Siffredi. It is a documentary of the life of one of the greatest Italian icons in U.S. society of all times. In the original movie, Rocco Siffredi plays the role of a special agent, a kind of a hardcore version of James Bond. In his great efforts to save the world from a nuclear terrorist attack, Rocco Siffredi is running into a lot of dangerous adventures, and of course gorgeous sex performances, but all for one goal: to save humanity from evil. The animation will take place in this absurd scenario of an imminent world catastrophe in which Rocco, during his call for duty, will discover to be mortal. In fact, during the filming of his masterpiece Rocco Never Dies, Rocco Siffredi will have a heart attack while he is performing in a gang bang. After a desperate attempt to rescue him, following a crazy drive in an ambulance through the streets of New York City, Rocco will die at Beth Israel Hospital, at the age of 37. He will be acclaimed by the public as a war hero and given a State Funeral. ĄZRocco Never DiesĄZ is a celebration of the absurdity and triumphs of the contradictions in today life, but it is also a romantic story about a man of strength, who came from a small town to conquest the glory of life with a tremendous work.

Pirates and Emperors (or, Size Does Matter) (United States, Animation, 2004, Color, Dolby Digital, 00:04:05)

While critics decry the United States' current brand of military and economic imperialism as dangerously unprecedented, great powers have been throwing their weight around like schoolyard bullies since St. Augustine's time. This playful but pointed cartoon shows that while Uncle Sam has been an especially bad apple of late, he's following a pattern of bad behavior which goes back decades.

Distracted by the attention of a beautiful woman, he gets the challenge wrong, with shocking but hilarious consequences. Winner Takes All is based on an old joke told in a new way.
