Join us on March 2nd for a throwback first Thursday when will screen Texas Filmmakers Showcase films from the year 2000 and before. In fact we are going one full decade back to 1996 on this one. Remember the Macarena?! Yeah, that was 1996. But some excellent short films were made in the late 90s and we're going to show them. See you at Dean's!

Every first Thursday of the month we will have a FREE screening of award-winning Texas-made short film entries from the Houston Film Commissions Texas Filmmakers Showcase or from other film festivals. The one hour-ish screenings will begin at 9PM at Dean's Credit Clothing, 316 Main Street (between Preston & Congress). Come see some great films that you may never get to see again or to just talk film in the comfort of the hippest venue downtown.
If you can't make it, do the right thing and tell a film making friend. Films subject to change. For more information call 713-437-5249 or e-mail.

RoadHead is a digitally animated documentary short. Filmmakers Bob Sabiston and Tommy Pallotta drove last December from New York to Austin and documented their trip. A series of random people encountered on the road were interviewed, edited, and then animated. A group of twelve artists donated their time and talent to animate the film, using Sabiston's proprietary software. The film capitalizes on the diversity of the artists' styles - each animator was allowed to illustrate the interview subjects in whatever manner they chose. The result is a chaotic, visually arresting series of cartoon portraits.
